Gallery: New screens from Take2 and Gearbox’s latest FPS - Borderlands.

Borderlands is due on all major platforms in September, and we've just gotten this array of great looking screens from 2K Games, the title's publisher.

The game takes place on a far away colony world that has long since devolved into lawlessness once it became obvious the planet had no inherent wealth. It's a chaotic frontier full of strange artifacts and deadly aliens, and the game has a randomisation feature that can create thousands of weapon, item and armour types.

It's a shooter, but has a lot of RPG elements - and Mad Max style vehicle action! For more info, check out the official site. In the meantime, gallery ahoy...

Pic 4 looks a bit silly without any reflection of the characters in the water.

Or have I discovered the grim secret of the game... Everyone is a vampire!

I see a cell shaded look to the game with anime design influences, definately interested in something different.

I can see the makings a fricken' sweet looking game!

Open landscape, vehicles and random weapon/armor generation, mad-max dystopian-desert vibe = win.
