First Modern Warfare 2 gameplay footage!

Video: It's a teeny-tiny sneak peak of Modern Warfare 2, but we've already wet ourselves a little in excitement.

This video is all of seventeen seconds long, but it's seventeen seconds of pure, teasing awesome. Modern Warfare 2 is looking damn impressive already.

What we're very excited about are the hints at some very interesting new gameplay elements. The snowmobile footage suggests more emphasis on vehicles, for instance, while the brief shot of a soldier hip-tossing an opponent suggests more hand-to-hand options than just gutting some poor bastard with your knife.

But let's not reveal too much - have a look at it for yourself...

See what we mean? Perhaps most interesting is the underwater environments- we don't know yet whether this is single-player or multiplayer footage, but the sub-arctic diving looks really interesting. Imagine a multiplayer map where you need to breach a submarine under a freezing ice-pack - that would be one cool challenge.

We're expecting Modern Warfare 2 around the end of the year, and we can hardly wait.

I hope I don't have to buy a whole new PC to run the game though. Damn it looks good and very interesting with underwater game play.

hmm while im a big fan of vehicles in multiplayer games such as bf2142 etc etc, they have to do it properly. Part of the attraction of COD4 is the fast paced, small maps that are so fun to run around on and go on a killing spree - vehicles generally slow things down a bit. Just hope they dont muck it up.

There were vehicle missions in earlier COD's and the Hercules gunship mission was sort of a vehicle mission in COD4, so I say go for it. :)
