Kitschy series V becomes gritty sci-fi drama

The new re-imagining of the classic SF series V is looking super solid, and a little bit creepy.

I remember watching V on TV the first time around. The tale of apparently friendly aliens coming to Earth and sharing their tech with us, only to enslave and, well, eat us, was great for a young kid. Now, it's unwatchable kitsch.

Which is okay, because the US ABC Network's reboot of the series is looking like it's a very mature second look at why we should beware aliends with gifts, as these two new clips show. But more importantly, it also show's what Firefly's Morena Baccarin (Inara Serra in the sadly cancelled show) has been up to...

And I thought she looked good with long hair. Wow. You can also expect to see Alan Tudyk (another Firefly graduate, so with a top cast and a slick take on the old premise, we're pretty damn excited.

So is "re-imagining" the new term for "rehash"?

It's not a continuation, and certainly the videos show the visitors arriving. Looks to be a re-imagining just like Battlestar Galactica.
