E3 news wrapup!

E3 Morning Wrap-up #1: The balloon's gone up on the biggest event of the gaming calendar and the announcements are coming thick and fast!

E3 is on again, bigger and brighter than it's been in years. It's barely begun and already we've been deluged with game announcements to set any heart a-flutter. So what are we excited about from the overnight PR bag?

Xbox 360 news
The Xbox is getting a huge boost in the social networking stakes, with Facebook and Twitter functionality coming to the Microsoft-made console. Both apps will be redesigned with the Live interface in mind. Also coming to Xbox Live is instant-on 1080p movie content. Twittering your way through your fave movie has never been easier (but it's still annoying!).

Crackdown 2
The sequel to Crackdown (d'uh!), the new game will feature boosted multiplayer and co-op functionality, on top of a vast open city full of shit to jump on, blow up and generally mess around with.

Final Fantasy XIII
This game's been on the cards for a while, but the news is that this is the first FF title to make its way to the Xbox 360. Duh-duh-duh da-da DUH-duh-duh!

Gears of War 2: Dark Corners
An add on for Gears 2, for anyone who actually cares.

Halo 3 ODST:
Again, not a new title, but what is cool is that this expansion for Halo 3 will feature access ot the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta. More Halo FTW!

Left 4 Dead 2
OMG more zombies - need we say more? Okay, we probably do - the game will feature new weapons, new zombies and feature maps set in Savannah Georgia and New Orleans' French Quarter. Maybe we can shoot Anne Rice while we're there?

Lego Harry Potter
There is no God.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising
The first MSG game for the Xbox 360, this is being developed by Kojima Productions, and will feature Raiden as the main character. Not a lot more detail than that, just yet.

And that's just what was littering my inbox this morning. Stay tuned for more reports as they come in.

Forza 3, baby!!!

And what's with the dismissive nature of the GoW2 add-on? I'd prefer news of "Gears 3", but still.

Also the announcement of the new PSP Go, http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8076573.stm , looks pretty good.
