New Assassins' Creed 2 cinematic chock full of corsets, and pointy death

Video: Get a taste of Venetian style in this new AC2 cinematic.

Assassins' Creed was a flawed little game that managed to gain a following despite its problems. Personally, we still rate leaping about the roof tops and alleys of medieval Jerusalem as one of our favourite gaming experiences.

But Assassins Creed 2 is looking set to make that look like a mere prologue.

We're still not seeing much in the way of gameplay, but what this cinematic trailer lacks in in-game footage it more than makes up for in the style stakes. From corseted courtesans dancing with rich Venetian nobles, to the beautifully lit towers and canals of Venice itself, this is looking like a stunning and atmospheric place to kill people.

And did we mention... killing?

Assassins' Creed 2 is out toward the end of this year, on all major platforms.
