AMD platforms get a better IGP and a tasty speed boost.
AMD's current 790G chipset comes with a pretty decent IGP built in, which performs roughly the same as a HD3200, but finally they're getting an upgrade - in the form of the RS880.
It's most likely still going to be a 55nm chipset, but will come with a HD4200 built in - equivalent to the 6800GT from NVIDIA.
This isn't a huge amount of speed by any measure, but any increase is an increase and it's a welcome change to see IGPs finally getting slightly closer to having some decent gaming capability.
Head over to Techpowerup to read a little more, and fingers crossed this new chipset gives AMD a bit of an edge over current behemoth Intel.
