Smokin' hot iPhones have lots of problems.
Fruit-themed toymaker Apple has done a U-turn on why its Iphone toys keep changing colour in the heat.
Last week it told us that the toys could only operate in conditions so temperate that even customers in the UK could not use them at some times of the year.
However since it flogs a fair few phones in places that get cold or hot, the sales teams have advised the PR department to change tack.
According to CNET Apple has now told the world plus dog that the problem only relates to the white iPhone - it has nothing to do with the sealed battery getting too hot, it is just that the plastic used for the white casing discolours.
But Apple's statement creates more questions than it answers. Why does the white casing have problems now when it didn't in earlier models? Has Apple used cheaper materials? Does the black plastic just not show its heat-induced staining?
If the white phone is made of the same plastic as other white Iphones then is it discolouring because of the heat of the machine? Or some other reason?
These questions, and many others, have not been answered by the Apple press office. We guess it will stick to this line until a black phone discolours or catches fire.
