Tells users to get with the times, and drop IE6.
There was quite a lot of hubbub created over the launch of Internet Explorer 8, heralded as the first Microsoft web browser that was able to impress web developers with support for standards.
For those still running Internet Explorer 6 however (IE6), this lack of support proves difficult when the competitors can all handle the full set of features available without worry.
YouTube has added a bar onto their main page for all users of the ageing browser, urging the user to dump their current IE6 program and pick from either Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 8 or FireFox 3.5.
Apart from a little Google self-pimping (they own YouTube and Chrome), they're not alone in their desire to dump IE6 - even popular site Digg would love to get rid of it.
There's no proclamation from up on high about officially dropping support yet, but Internet Explorer is looking less attractive as every new release from others rolls around, and we'd definitely welcome an IE6-free interweb.
Head over to TechCrunch to read a little more on the browser from the cretaceous period.
