River Tam joins the Dollhouse

Summer Glau joins the ever-expanding cast of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse.

Dollhouse divided the fan community like few other shows, and when it got gifted a second season, even the diehard fans - like myself - were actually surprised. For every hit, the show definitely had some misses, but it looks like Joss Whedon's working to assemble a dream cast for the soon to air season 2, and that latest addition is ex-Firefly, ex-Terminator Summer Glau.

She joins a revitalised cast list alongside BSG's Jamie Bamber and Michael ogan and Buffy/Angel alumni Alexis Denisof.

Say what you will about the majority of the first season, we think you'd have to agree that the un-aired 'thirteenth episode' Epitaph One was pretty damn excellent. If season 2 can live up to that kind of storytelling, September 25 - when the first new episode airs - could be the start of something very special.

hectorbustnuts Aug 28, 2009 11:37 AM	I never got the appeal of Summer Glau. Always seemed...semi down-syndrome (to be blunt). Athletic, yes...good actor...no. No, not really.

hectorbustnuts Aug 28, 2009 12:29 PM	I loved "Dollhouse", I'm not anti-"Dollhouse". I'm not even anti-Summer Glau. She was perfect in "Firefly" and great as Cameron in "Sarah Connor Chronicles"...but it's not really "acting" is it?

thesorehead Aug 28, 2009 2:18 PM	Agreed, Glau is not the most talented actor, nor is she the prettiest girl ever to grace the screen. BUT Like Ryan Reynolds, Christian Bale and Arnold Schwarzenegger she's not really required to act. She does what she does and she's very good at it. Thanks to this development I may even ask Uncle for a dollhouse preview
