New Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer trailer

Video: Get ready to pwn and be pwned in the upcoming Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer modes.

If there is one game we'd kill practically anyone one we know to have it release early, it's Modern Warfare 2. And this new trailer highlighting some of the action - and new gameplay elements - in MW2's multiplayer is not at all helping.

FIrst up, we get to see the new pistol and riot-shield combo in action. It's looking to be a good call for supporting assault rifle or SMG-armed players, especially in the flag capture mode - which we also see in this clip. The game is also looking as good as we can expect, too.

The blood-on-camera effect, to show you've been hit, is particularly visceral, and will have many a player flinching in sympathy for their virtual selves.

Aw yeah - ranged knife kills. That's the stuff.

MagnumXY Sep 4, 2009 8:55 PM	ah i have a feeling that this is going to be a terrible game, i hope im wrong but it just looks to over the top for noobs and casuals and too wimpy for hardcores. it also looks like its going to be a lame pc game (the video is on xbox for godsake).

funky_monkey Sep 5, 2009 9:53 AM	err, You do realise Magnuim that COD4 was all Xbox before going to PC? It's easier for them to create the game for Xbox 360 and port it to pc than the other way. They did an interview about it for COD4 because people were so upset about Cod4 beta being 360 only. This will not be bad for Pro gamers as like any comp\ ladder there will be things limited from the game. I doubt Riot shields will be allowed as a start. This game has, by the looks of it, What it needs to be a massive smash for casual gamers as well as something new for the hardcore COD community. I have already seen ladders up for this over in the UK and they are going off leaked information to setup the rules and everything like that. This game will be epic.

MagnumXY Sep 5, 2009 9:37 PM	I still do not understand why a game would be easier to make for xbox and then porting it. Isn't the game made on PC? Shouldn't it therefore be easier to make on PC?

nesquick Sep 6, 2009 10:23 PM	Something about the microsoft developer tools or something from what I remember reading once and aparently the cell processor on the PS3 is very hard to code for and sony gives the devs hardly any support so from what I have also read most devs make it for xbox then just port it to ps3 to save themselves time and effort. ask morris or the end or someone who knows all about this kind of stuff as Im just a noob at it lol and could be wrong

Hawkeye Sep 7, 2009 5:23 PM	Perhaps some of you guys should read the Console Porting feature in issue 104 :) Anyway, one thing that makes consoles easier in one way is the foxed hardware spec. That's a huge advantage right there - there's no guesswork.
