Ridley Scott Alien prequel has official title teaser posters?

Be mindful of the questionmark...

Received these in the post the other day and was advised they are 'week 42' teasers for the Ridley Scott Alien prequel scheduled for 2011. The prequel story to the 1979 blockbuster has been mooted around the net as Alien: Origins and Alien Origins, but the latter seems to have won out if you can believe these.

I note that one of the alleged teasers employs both the headline fonts used in the original movie and in James Cameron's 1986 sequel Aliens.

It was a sparse communication, so take it with a pinch of salt - could be the backdrop to a current round of Fox meetings or just a bit of fan-art...

Why are movies seem to be going back to pre stages of original Movies? Is the Movie Industry running out of ideas and maybe the thought of visual entertainment coming to a end, in the movie side.

they have been for years mate.

The very obvious remakes of every damn thing that have un-graced our screens in recent years is a testament to that.

There are only a few original ideas floating around at the moment - many of which end up flying under the radar because they're independent movies and not big Hollywood blockbusters.

I try and keep an eye out for the off-shoot and low budget stuff where possible to see what they're like, whilst still visiting the cinema to watch a few 'commercially viable' movies.

Looks like fanart to me... not very polished, and the wording 'Directed by Ridley Scott', along with its alignment alongside 'coming soon' seems odd and looks pretty amateurish... but then maybe ALL early posters are so basic, I dunno...

Agreed thylacine. But i doubt even early posters would look so amateurish. Poor colour choice, outdated layout, old images, lame title. :)

Lame fan poster: DO NOT WANT

An Alien origins movie would be awesome, so long as it involves the "Space Jockey" race - a first encounter story would be good, actually.

For me Alien has always been about Ripley, so if you're not going to have her you have to remove humans from the picture altogether IMHO.

Has anybody else read the Aliens vs. Predator vs. Terminator comics? MOVIE PLX!!

Pretty sure Claremont's 'AvP: Deadliest of the Species' didn't include Ripley. Or does AvP not need her, only A? : p
