Bioshock 2 gets a release date

Get ready to make a return to Rapture...

Here's a short and sweet announcement that should have Bioshock fans fiendishly excited - in fact, in an almost inverse ratio to the length of this article!

Over the weekend 2K Games announced that Bioshock 2 will be hitting shelves on all major platforms on February 9 next year. Here's an excerpt from the release:

Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. Players step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as they travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and their own survival.

Hmm, spooky.

Would have played Bioshock, if it weren't for the bullshit copy protection. Boycotted on principle. Will get it when it's in the bargain bins.

Any word on c/p for BS2?

Looks good. I still have to play 1. Just needs to lose a few more dollars. Oh well still have the expansions from Oblion to play yet.

I quiet liked Bioshock. Admittedly it didn't introduce anything too innovative but was a solid fps with a decent amount of shiny.

So thesorehead, are you saying copy protection is ok as long as the game's cheap?

tantryl - will they send me a disk, case, manual and not require me to register online?

Mr.Slipper - no. My hope is that by the time it makes it to the orange-boxed "$20 for two hot hits" shelf at JB the copy protection will be gone. If it's still there, I still won't get it.

thesorehead - would you like me to ask you some questions with obvious answers, that I could easily find confirmation on myself if I bothered?
