Borderlands and Assassin's Creed 2 to be delayed for PC

Keen PC gamers are going to have to wait a little bit, and lot, longer.

Bad news for PC gamers. Two cross-platform big guns are going to be late to the PC, once again showcasing the fraught business of developing in a multi-platform environment.

We found it yesterday that Borderlands will drop on PC a week after it hits consoles. Last minute polishing and optimising is taking a little longer than expected.

And it's that optimising that looks to be taking much longer than expected with Assassin's Creed 2, which we've found out today - via the evil that is Twitter - is going to slip to the first quarter of next year. Ubisoft made very big noises about how hard it was working to bring a quality PC game to market - and at the same time - so we can only assume that the issues must be worth the slipped date.

Poo.

Both games are still on track for their console release dates.

Damn, it's going to be annoying waiting a week to get Borderlands while all the console gamers get stuck in.

I assume this will affect your borderlands competition (i.e. delayed/cancelled)?

So is AC2 going be an obvious console port like AC1 or will it play like a PC game.

Malkieri, it won't affect our comp since we've got prerelease code:

This is just for retail, which means if you want to buy it it's going to be a little wait.

No, not at all - we already have code for that. The same code that was at Power to the PC.
