Essential Linkage: It appears the answer to that question is a resounding YES.
I really do feel Infinity Ward must have lost a bet with another developer. That's the only way I can make sense of the company's stubborn refusal to take on board the mass upset amongst the PC gaming community. Take, for instance, an online chat hosted by Best Buy in the US, featuring Mackey McCandlish and Ryan Lastimosa from Infinity Ward.
The chat was open for questions from all comers, and it was a brutal expose on just how dumbed down the MW2 experience will be on PC, compared to CoD4. Take this QA for example:
Moriarte: Ignoring IW.net, is the PC version a direct port of the console version? Mackey-IW: No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings.

The mouse is a feature, now?! What. The. Fuck?!
The lads over at Ars Technica are just as outraged as us, and have a full story that is well worth reading.
Prepare to get your rage on.
