Star Trek Online gets a release date

Starfleet wants you - and sooner than you think!

Stardate February the 2nd, 2010.

That's the date that Star Trek Online will go on sale in North America, followed three days later by Europe. No Australian date has been announced, but we'd bet credits to Tribbles it'll be closer to the US launch.

We've also been informed that the closed beta stage of the game will go live very shortly, with invites going out possibly within the next week or two.

Time to get my Star Trek uniform to the laundromat, I think!

What will happen when we have players running around with names like "Arthas" and "Blood Raven" ... and then there'll be a raid boss named Onyxia ...

From what I have seen a lot of it isn't in keeping with Star Trek we know, there is heaps of "new" stuff that the developers have added. I think it will be more like the alternate reality garbage of the latest movie. But I would like to see more vids.

TOS refrences? the game is set 30 years after nemesis.. thus i request that all jibes be based under TNG characters and/or mannorisms. or not.. :P

SceptreCore, Fredz is bang on. It's 30 years after the last seen Next Gen film, so of course things are going to be different.

This Trekkie, at least, thinks it looks fantastic.
