We knew it was gonna happen, but now it's official.
Dollhouse polarised TV fans like few other shows. For some, it was surefire proof of Joss Whedon's brilliance, as well as evidence that the networks really have it in for him. For others, it was just another vehicle for lame dialogue and hot fighting chicks, that once and for all proved why the networks hate him.
And, now, it's been cancelled.
The show will not be renewed for a third season, but at least Fox is likely to let Whedon finish the series, and is likely to broadcast the remaining episodes. The 11th episode of a 13 ep run is currently in production, so that means Joss gets two and half episodes to wrap up the show.
Now, personally, I love the show. It has its flaws, but no more than many other, more successful programs, and when it works it's one of the most affecting, intelligent shows on television. And it's gone, like the Sarah Connor Chronicles is gone, and like Fringe is rumoured to be gone very soon, too.
Damn. I needs me some more sci-fi on TV!
