Well, maybe just four minutes of it. And only on Xbox LIVE... but still... AVATAR!

The new Movies on Demand service switches on for Xbox LIVE subscribers today, and to celebrate, four minutes of exclusive footage from James Cameron's upcoming film Avatar will be available to watch for a limited time.

Basically, you've got five days to watch the sequence - a thrilling chase scene, apparently - before it's taken off the service. "With the fantastic video experience of Movies on Demand on Xbox LIVE," says John Landau, the films executive producer, "we are so excited to be able to give Xbox 360 users a sneak preview of one of the exhilarating chase scenes in the movie before anyone else."

The Movies on Demand service itself features 100s of films from a wide range of genres. The movies are streamed in full 1080p HD, with 5.1 audio.

Wonder how much was paid for that deal...I think Mr Cameron needs all the support for this dubious movie..

I'm looking forward to this one. The man hasn't had a complete screw-up yet, so I'm quietly optimistic about it.

Obvious troll is... obvious?

Are you kidding? This movie is a breath of fresh air as far as I'm concerned. Very much looking forward to it, even if the story turns out to be crap (no evidence here, just pure speculation) I'd go for the eye-candy alone.

WETA digital know their shit!

happy morning to you all. decided to make use of my optus off-peak usage and watch the HD preview of Avatar and WOW it was actually very impressive. I had my head phones on so I happily turned the volume to high without annoying the neighbours and was taken aback. Can't wait for the release in cinemas.

As for Xbox Live Movies on demand... its a great idea, only if I had unlimited download hehehe ;)
