IMPS Chapter 2 finally out!

The latest chapter in the ongoing story of the best damn job in the galaxy...

It's been an awfully long time coming, but the second chapter of IMPS: The Relentless has been posted online.

IMPS is a Star Wars fan movie project by the same guys who did the hilarious Cops-style spoof, Troops. Standing for Imperial Military Personnel Stories, the first Chapter was released to much acclaim back in 2005, but the follow up chapters took a long time to develop. Since the series is essentially a labour of love between fans, prop makers and professional effects and CGI creators, work commitments often get in the way of making the series.

The makers plan to release eight chapters in total, each of about 25 minutes run time, and hopefully the third chapter won't take quite so long.

IMPS documents the day to day operations of an Imperial Carrier Group, smashing rebels and keeping the galactic peace. If you've not yet seen the first chapter, you can watch it here - and it's well worth it.

His opening narration for Chapter 1 is superb.

"Behold... the vastness of space..."

Just epic :)

You can't help but think of Optimus as he narrates. You know you're in for a treat.

It wouldnt surprise me if they have Optimus in it at some stage, BOTH transformers movies came out after chapter 1 was made, they had the aliens, predators and whatnot in the first chapter. Maybe the Imperials have to restore order on cybertron or something. I dont know, stop looking at me!!

So if this is right, the period between chapters is 4 years, so we can expect the series to be completed by um....... 2033

Absolute crap. I mean, the first one was OK, even impressive at times, and funny. This one was boring, 3 minutes of credits, mostly the same animations as the first film, then we have another 5 minutes before anything clever is done...

Not to mention how hackneyed and half-assed the CGI and compositing is done compared to the original.

Story = Boring
Graphics = Poor, Mediocre at best
Overall = Boring

Leonard Nimoy's voice is great for narration also!

Yeah, it's nowhere as good as the first one, but then I'm just happy to see it completed. If the infrequent updates have been anything to go by, getting those one out has been a real challenge.

And I mean... it's a fan film! Give them credit for effort!

Err, Colonel Sanders, it's Peter Cullen, aka Optimus Prime, NOT Leonard Nimoy

Err never said that...if you read my original comment I said about Peter Cullen = OPrime..etc

The comment I made about Leonard is his voice is great for narration, unrelated to the IMPS
