That's a lot of night vision goggles...

Modern Warfare 2, either the game of 2009 or a shadow of its former self, depending on what platform you play it on, has just earned Activision a whopping $US1 billion.

That's... a lot of money. How much, though?

Well, to put it in perspective, it'll buy you over 600 of these:

That's a Bugatti Veyron, by the way. They're kind of expensive.

So I guess 'gratz are in order for Infinity Ward. We still hate you for what you've done to PC multiplayer, but it looks like at least you can now buy our respect.

I must be the only gamer who doesn't have or want this game.
I would like to see a break down of profits from console v's pc.

It would be very depressing, Bundy.

And 2Shy, I would gladly respect anyone who offered me, say, .1 per cent of that figure :)

Yea i never got into the COD series either ... if you want a fast paced "unrealistic" FPS game then its Team Fortress 2 all the way for me

Any word on a TF3?

For BF BC 2, it won't have console, mod tools, and self-hosted dedicated servers.

@daleyboy79

no, no word on tf3. it probably wont be comming out for a couple of years, what with all the updates etc.

@Bundywow

no, i am in the same boat as you buddy, i do not have, nor have i ever wanted this game.

I just picked up the new issue of the mag (good read, WD atomic staff) and the new Medal of Honour game looks amazing. I have alwasy been a big fan of MoH games, ever since the PS1.

also, the guy in the cover looks EXACTLY like my dad, the beard and nose bridge and sunnies, EVERYTHING!

How much did they spend making the game though?

Meh, biggest fuck up for a PC game ever imo. At least they can give the monkeys that make the decisions there a pay rise. I don't think they're very bright monkeys though. They'll probably just eat the money.

I boycotted the PC version after reading about how they basically jammed a giant pole up the rear end of PC gamers wanting to play online, but just couldn't resist getting it on PS3. Gaming has got to the point now where it's almost not as cool because of how many of us there are playing MW2 at midnight on a thursday. We now have multibillion dollar franchises, although as with the film industry, there is still some low budget arthousey gold out there.

Getting it on the ps3 was sorta pointless seeing how the online system is the same as the PC version

@ CAPS LOCK

You realise that Infinity Ward, the developer of CoD4 and MW2, was born out of staff who worked on the original Medal Of Honour games, right?

Great job to everyone who bought it on PC. Now they'll never get the message. Also, an extra special place in Hades is reserved for those who bought it on Steam and gave credence to the notion that you can charge whatever you like for digital distribution, because your average mouth-breathing casual gamer can't tell the difference.

If PC gaming continues this last year's trend for the next decade or so, come 2020 we'll all be salivating over FarmVille 5.0, only $199, available now on Steam and GFWL. Xbox 1080 controller for Windows required.

Damn, I'm bitter.

With all that money, now maybe they'll finish Call of Duty 3.
