ATI announces the Radeon HD 5570

Say hello to another low cost graphics card.

The graphics arm of AMD, ATI has announced another in its Radeon HD 5000 series of graphics cards, the HD 5570.

Today the firm said that the card, which retails for just under seventy-three quid, doesn't compromise on performance and is perfect for multimedia processing, including DirectX 11, on small PCs.

The HD 5570 supports Windows 7, boasts support for ATI Eyefinity, which can drive up to three screens, enables 1080p HD playback and, when combined with AMD Phenom II X4 905e processors, supports 'immersive gaming' and 'vivid digital entertainment', according to AMD.

ATI claims the HD 5570 can deliver the same rich high-definition multimedia experience as the 'enthusiast-class' ATI Radeon HD 5870.

"AMD recognises that small form factor PCs are becoming more popular and low profile graphics upgrade options have been limited to date," said Matt Skynner, vice president and general manager of AMD's graphics division.

"Customers purchasing small form factor PCs are looking for improved performance while gaming, watching HD video or working with the latest productivity applications. The ATI Radeon HD 5570 graphics card delivers all of this at a price that won't break the bank."

The firm mentioned a couple of games that will run well on the HD 5570, which include Colin McRae's DIRT 2 and one called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Both of which sound interesting.

Those benchmarks are crap. The resolutions they're running it at are small 4:3 resolutions, and the framerates arent even that great. Slots in exactly where I thought it would. It WONT run everything on High at a semi decent res, it probably wont even run everything on high at a lower res. Farcry 2 bench is done in DX9, Crysis is done with custom settings etc.

Should note that the 4:3 res' are the ones with good perf, I know they're benching at up to 1920x1200

krispy89 do you game at all on pc coz AA is almost the most important thing, anyway i'd have to agree with nukejockey it'll run everything nicely at a medium setting if you include AA

AA doesn't mean shit... I don't care about a few little jaggies. If you take time to pick them out, you're not paying enough attention to what you should be doing and/or not playing fast enough.
