A mess of screens from the very pretty new submarine sim, Silent Hunter V.

As fans of Das Boot, Crimson Tide, Hunt for Red October or any other submarine film know, there's not purer expression of tense, tactically challenging navel warfare than the duel between the enemy above and the enemy below.

Also, as fans of Das Boot know, it never ends well for the Germans. But don't worry about that too much, as Silent Hunter V: The Battle for the Atlantic, promises lots of Kraut-based fun taking on Allied shipping. It'll likely be hours of game-time before scurvy and the intense depression sets in, and you stop shaving, a'la Jurgen Prochnow!

But to get you all excited about your term of service in the Kriegsmarine, here's some shots of the game!

Enjoy - Silent Hunter V releases only on PC on March the 2nd, and a full review will be in our next issue (111).

I could never get into SHIV. It was too easy, buggy and well Americans are just boring. This being back in the uboots might make me buy it, but then if its being published by ubisoft (SHIV was) is it going to have that online save c***? because that could stop me buying it.

I've never got into the Silent Hunter series... but I always was very interested in it. I might give this one a go.
