Smokin' Aces gets a sequel... WTF?

More guns, more assassins, more violence... but, sadly, less Jeremy Piven.

Remember Smokin' Aces?

Okay, if you can't, we don't blame you. It was an action film that could best be described as... eclectic, a giant, messed up vanity project from director Joe Carnahan. But, despite its flaws - and there are many - it's a real guilty pleasure of mine.

I suspect the second film will be much the same. It's got some of the same characters (the Tremors are back, but Chris Pine isn't), it's set before the first one, and... well, we could tell you details, but they'd likely not make a lick of sense.

Just watch some stuff blow up.

Smokin Aces 2 is released direct to video on March 24.

pkroeze Feb 26, 2010 3:30 PM	watched the first and then the second on the same night, the first is actually a awesome movie, the second is a cheap budget kids movie for adults, no comparison, it may have been alright on it's own but the could have named it something else at least.
battlefield_gir Feb 27, 2010 12:44 AM	its good in a similar way to somthing like punisher warzone just not as good. Enjoyable but not memorable though you still appreciate the expansion of the fictional universe. Would have been better as a graphic novel imho.
