Acer announces products at CeBIT

Acer's garish gaming PC, laptops and netbooks.

PC maker Acer launched an array of new kit, including a drool-worthy gaming PC, amid the madness at CeBIT today.

Acer's liquid-cooled Predator G7750 has an Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition processor and is optimised for overclockers via the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (IXTU). It supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 with dual LAN interfaces for redundancy that will get the fraggerati all in a lather. We're not so keen on the nuclear orange finish, but inside it has easy-swap HDD bays, so you can remove any of the four SATA drives even when the PC is in use, assuming that you ever might need to do so.

Acer is also releasing several Aspire and Travelmate netbooks and laptops. Plain vanilla are the Acer Travelmate 7740 and 5740, but the more interesting propositions are the high-end Travelmate 6594 and ultra-mobile Travelmate Timeline. The Aspire range is Acer's more interesting line and it includes the Aspire 8942 and Aspire 5942 for gaming and performance with an Aspire One 752 netboook chucked in for good measure.

Acer hasn't given any pricing details yet because most of these products will not be out until May. Only the Aspire 5942 and 8942 with specs refreshed are available now.
