Respawn LAN, AusHalo join forces in Melbourne

Heads-up: Two of Australia's biggest gaming groups meet in Melbourne for an even bigger event!

There are those who maintain that LANning inside a single building is out-dated and indeed replaced by the internet; but thankfully the Aussie scene is still churning along at a vigorous pace.

Respawn LAN, which started in January of 2006, has just announced their sixteenth gigantic LAN that will be held on the 10th of April, for a small registration fee, located at La Trobe University in Victoria.

Not only will Respawn play host to hundreds of gamers under one ceiling, but they'll be joined in an adjacent building by AusHalo, a community of console gamers (no less hardcore in their fragging skills) who will be running a LAN as well!

This gigantic event will be going down on the weekend of the 10th, so make sure you register early in both events to secure your spot in what's looking to be one of the biggest Australian gaming events of 2010.

So when I'm at Respawn there will be an ENTIRE HALL filled with console gamers next door?

They better stay on their side of LaTrobe itellyouwut.

But in all seriousness its a sound idea, better financial security for both groups. I'm mates with the people who used to run the Pheonix Lans before they had to stop due to financial issues (setting up a Lan too big for them to finance themselves, the other group pulling out at the last minute essentially leaving them in debt)

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Consoles in the Odeon, BYOC in Union Hall.

Looks good... but still looks smaller than the last few Reloaded Lans... consoles dont count imo

And for anyone still reading this article, AusHalo have announced they will also be running a MW2 competition alongside the Halo3 competition at the event.
