Australia's first licensed gaming venue opens soon!

Brisbane's Mana Bar to bring gamers and liver failure together at last.

It's no mistake that gaming and responsible consumption of alcohol goes together like Turkish bread and vegemite - it's a simple fact of life. That being the case, Brisbane gamers are in for a rare treat with the looming opening of Australia's first licensed gaming venue - the Mana Bar.

The Mana Bar's big launch is on the 20th of March, and it's in Fortitude Valley, "Brisbane's biggest nightlife and entertainment district". Or so the release says. What would a Sydney-sider know? But we do know that entry and gaming is free, there'll be a mess of cocktails on offer, hourly prizes, and even a few special guests.

So support drunken gaming, Brisbane! You know it makes sense!

Pity they can't put it in a real city like, I dunno, Sydney.

But considering Yahtzee is Brisbanian, he wouldn't bother setting one up anywhere else, would he?

Yeah really wish there was a modern version of 'descent' for this opening. Techni-colour yawn would be all over the shop with that game.

One of the promo shots was of a nice looking cocktail and a Wii controller beside it. This worries me terribly - but hey at least Melbourne stabbings will be of the news for one night after some guys decide shots and wii boxing are a good idea (which it is).
