Just in motion control news - silly handwaving coming to Playstation.
First you could waddle in front of a Wii, then Microsoft joined the motion control party with the oddly named Project Natal. Now, at long last, fans of handwaving can get their wiggle-on in front of a PS3.
Fresh from the Game Developers' Conference in San Francisco, we have the Playstation Move, which is at least a more honest naming schema than Some. The Move uses the PlayStation Eye as a sensing device, while the two-part motion controller itself has an "advanced motion sensors, including a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis accelerometer, and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor, as well as a color-changing sphere that is tracked by PlayStation Eye camera."
Yes, at last - a colour changing sphere. Because we've always wanted our game controllers to look like props from a 60s sci-fi film.
Sony also announced a subsequent range of PlayStation Move games, but aside from the new Warner Lord of the Rings game - Aragorn's Quest - there's no actual title announcements. But we do know that EA, Square Enix, Ubisoft and the rest of the big name market are already supporting the goofy looking platform.
