Steel Series gear to hit JB Hi-fi

The popular gaming brand, and mouse specialists, hit the shelves in Australia's favourite budget tech/AV shop.

Steel Series has long been regarded as high-end, well engineered kit - kind of the PC equivalent of Maserati or Aston Martin. We met with the company last year, and the passion behind each mouse, headphone or even other product is unmistakable.

And now it's easier than ever to pick up in Oz, thanks to its availability through retailing giant JB Hi-fi.

"The ability to offer SteelSeries professional gaming gear at a distribution level this broad, with a quality partner like JB Hi-Fi, is a huge step forward for SteelSeries in Australia," commented Flemming Gyldenhammer, Regional Sales Manager for SteelSeries (and all round cool guy, and owner of the coolest name ever). "This partnership strongly underlines the demand for professional gaming peripherals in the Australian market; a demand that we look forward to fulfilling with the help of JB Hi-Fi."

It's good news all round, really - more top gaming gear for us, more visibility for a really good brand.

+1 to the coolest name ever. He should play MMORPG's with that name.

But the price has to be right if it is at JB Hi Fi.

Excellent, I've had trouble finding a good place to buy a set of 5hv2 headphones to replace my 4H's falling apart.

JB has had them for ages. I got my steelseries stealth merc from there ($100 dollars, down from $130) expensive gear and the keyboard is pretty povo so far...

I'd say the difference is JB will now be stocking them as a permanent thing as opposed to getting bits and pieces in.
