2.4GHz without overclocking - speedy!
Kingston has laid claim to the fastest memory around, or at least the fastest to be certified by Intel for its Core i7 chips.
The snappily named KHX2400C9D3T1K2/4GX is an unbuffered dual-channel DDR3 memory kit which is clocked at 2,400MHz and runs on timings of 9-11-9-27-2 at 1.65V.
According to Kingston, the new chips were tested on several P55-based systems, but the Intel certification table lists it as compatible with the Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P motherboard.
Kingston's latest contender just pips Corsair's rival CMGTX1 to top spot, which has identical timings and voltage, but clocks at 2333MHz, although it is possible to run the Corsair chips at 2,400MHz as well, just don't expect Intel to qualify that.
The new kits will be available in the second half of this year. Pricing is not yet available, but being aimed at enthusiasts, gamers and benchmarkers, we don't expect them to be cheap.
