At last, we can show off - and give our impressions on - Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer. It's a helluva ride.
A new video featuring Red Dead Redemption's Freeroam multiplayer mode, and at the same time the NDA has dropped on a recent multiplayer session we get to indulge in alongside a whole mess of other Aussie media.
We got to experience Freeroam first-hand, and it really is awesome - like the trailer below says, it effectively turns the entire gameworld into a multiplayer lobby. And it's awesome. Anything you can do in the game's open world, like hunting or clearing out hiudeouts, you can do alone or with a posse of friends. You can have posses of up to eight players, and up to sixteen players in any given instance of the world - so that's a lot of options for mayhem right there.
Curious? Check out the video for a more visual taste of the action.
And if that doesn't whet your appetite for some shootin', wrasslin and huntin' on the wide open range, then we humbly suggest that you may be dead inside. The actual experience of playing the game is even more awesome than it looks...
And let me tell you, molotov cocktails in a largely wooden town are fun, but will draw the attention of local law enforcement. Even without any real structure, just the random instances of free roaming were more than enough fun.
Though, if you ever find yourself staring down the barrel of any weapon in the hand of Mark Serrels, editor of PSM3, run. He's scary-good.
That aside, we eventually let Rockstar herd us into some more structured play...
