The Atomic Autism Donation Drive!

Atomic wants to help those affected by autism - and we need your help.

Last weekend, we lost a forum member in a tragic motor vehicle accident. index680i was at times not the easiest member to get along with, as a lot of people tended to misunderstand his enthusiasm for all things Atomic, but there's no denying that he was a passionate gamer. In a very important and fundamental way, he was, however, truly one of us.

Apart from being a passionate member of our community, he was also overcoming autism. The sad news of his passing caused an outpouring of grief on the forums, and in it we learnt that his family asked all those wising to donate for flowers to make donations to Autism Spectrum Australia. Aspect "builds confidence and capacity with people who have an autism spectrum disorder, their families and communities by providing information, education and other services".

And we think that's a pretty awesome cause, and a good way to remember our friend.

To this end the forum mods and I have set-up a paypal account that will contribute directly to Aspect. You can find more info about how to donate right here.

A very worthy cause, will you be able to let us know how much we end up donating David?

I would like to thank you all - both Atomic Admin. and users. Brad's Autism made it hard for him to handle "normal" social interaction and he would NEVER tell anyone what he had. he didn't want pitty. What i can tell you all is, that in everyday life he was a good person - no a great person. He helped everyone he met and loved to make people happy and laugh. Once again, we thank you all for thinking of us and being up-front about how you all feel. Lesley Carlson (Brad's Mum)

Very few of us will have the opportunity to make a difference after our passing. Mrs Carlson, your son is one of these few.
