A whole new game in the series, plus multiplayer - no news on DRM though...
The next game in the Assassins' Creed franchise was announced this morning. Assassins' Creed Brotherhood will ship this Christmas for all major platforms, and features a host of new elements.
Brotherhood's singleplayer game sees gamers return to the pointy boots of Ezio, now a master assassin tangling with the mysterious Templar Order. Ezio must travel to the corrupt heart of Italy - Rome - to tangle with those whacky Templars, and he'll have an entire brotherhood of assassins to help him.
Also featured in the game for the first time in the franchise's history will be a multiplayer mode. You can side with the Templars or take on the assassins' mantle, and there's a mess of characters, techniques and gear to choose from, and a number of different game mods.
We asked Ubi reps what the DRM on the game was likely be, given the woes Ubisoft has had in that direction recently, and were told there's 'no announcements on this just yet'. In other words, our guess is Brotherhood will have the same DRM as in Assassins Creed II and Silent Hunter V.
Hopefully Ubisoft will have ironed out the bugs by then.
