SilverStone's new fan digs a tunnel of love through your chassis - with video demo!
Computer fans aren't typically something worthy of setting the world aflame - while they do perform a vital function, removing heat or introducing cooler air, they're usually quite boring.
SilverStone has just rewritten that convention with their latest design, the Air Penetrator, one of the few fans we've seen that actually seems to tick all the right boxes on our list of cooling.
It's an extremely high-pressure design that has overlapping blades formed from a single plastic mould (very difficult to create), runs on a Fluid Dynamic Bearing similar to competing Scythe fans, and seems to chew through 0.33A at 12V - though it's rated to start spinning as low as 5V.
SilverStone have also thrown speed reduction cables into the box like Noctua or Zalman have been known to, and the Air Penetrator slides comfortably into a 120mm form factor, which looks to be perfect for heatsinks.
We're going to get one of these fans in to do some testing ourselves, since they seem perfect for high fin density heatsinks like the TRUE, but until then you should check out the video of it running:
Oh yeah, that's hella cool. Amusing "C-brand" antics aside, this is one fan we're looking forwards to.
