Video: Tackle the unforgiving Peninsular Campaign in new Napoleon Total War DLC.
There's more great campaigning content coming for Napoleon Total War this winter. The Peninsular Campaign expansion will be available via Steam, and is looking, well... awesome.
I'm bit of a history nerd, and one of my favourite periods is the war in the Spain between 1809 and 1814. It's a brutal little war - the French were renowned for foraging off the land and not caring how much hardship they caused, and so the Spanish peasants formed into bands to fight the guerilla, or little war.
It saw some terrible defeats for the British, too, but that all turned around when Sir Arthur Wellesly, the Duke of Wellington, took command of Allied Forces. He whipped every French Marshall that Napoleon threw at him, and some of the most thrilling battles of the entire Napoleonic period were fought in the region.
And... a certain Captain Sharpe of the 95th Rifles might also have gotten up to certain shenanigans.
The Total War expansion kicks off in 1811, and features a whole new campaign map, playable Spaniards, and three new units - the Priest for Spain and Portugal, the Provocateur for France and Britain, and the Guerillo, a unique Spanish agent.
Anyhoo, check out the new trailer for taste of the blackpowder flavoured fun:
Hmm... musketry.
