Portal 2 announcement released to expectant fans

Can Valve and Portal 2 bring us back to the Aperture Science labs even better than before?

It doesn't take much from Valve to get the fans of its Portal game stirred into a frenzy - and there's no better way to do it than with a brand-new teaser trailer for Portal 2.

It's got all the things you know and (hopefully) love from the original Portal game, including a very creepy GLaDOS and a look inside the decrepit testing facility that you once called home.

A jungle setting certainly seems like a bigger challenge compared to the rather pristine environments of the first, and the budget for Portal 2 appears to be massive - just check out those complex animations!

Also hinted at by Gabe Newell, co-founder of Valve, was that the PlayStation 3 version of the game will be the best of the console versions, and will even support Valve's Steam Cloud service; giving access to saved games from any console on the 'net.

Check out the Portal 2 teaser below:

I tried replaying Portal the other day, until I got halfway through it and had to stop. The game didn't hold my attention, and it was actually a chore to play.

I'm not excited by Portal 2, I have no strong feelings towards it either way. I honestly believe the hype around Portal had to do with "CAKE IS A LIE" spouting all over the internet in a desperate attempt for humour.
And yes before anyone suggests it I have ADHD, just "don't get" the humour, possess a low IQ and am quite possibly a fag.

You dumb ADHD ridden, humourless poof!

:) I enjoyed Portal as a Puzzle game, at an hour and a half to complete, its not exactly long :P

I was sort of disappointed a this and was hoping for more from Valve. Portal was great but it was a great puzzle game which came as part of orange box. As a full game it was short and had almost no narrative to follow the world felt empty etc as an IP it's almost nothing. Portal 2 had better be a whole lot more than a series of corridors and empty rooms with moveable boxes otherwise I won't be paying full price for it that's for sure.

Orcone you are right, they add 1 mechanic to a first person environment, like how EA adds 1 new mechanic to NBA live every year. The game was bland it was good complementing material in orange box but that's all it ever was.

I can finish Portal in under an hour, and probably have done so about 5 times in the past year. I can't wait for Portal 2.

I should mention that views expressed by Orcone are his own, and do not reflect those of the Society For ADHD Ridden Humorless Poofs, of which I head frequently. Actually that doesn't sound right...

I think Portal 2 looks brilliant. I loved the original, though only for one play through. It is, after all, extremely linear. I hope the new additions to the player's abilities help to broaden out the problem solving. It will at least look absolutely beautiful, judging by the trailers.
