Do you have what it takes to win the Medal of Honor Collector's Edition?

Competition: Atomic challenges you with a tactical problem; can you best the enemy and win the prize?

Your team has travelled a huge distance after drop-off a safe distance from the hot zone; in which your target is located.

Your team contains a sniper, a spotter and four other soldiers trained for basic combat skills, with a single artillery strike on call in addition to your role as commander.

Your target resides in the center of a small town, itself located in an open field, and is surrounded by a number of personal guards with unknown levels of potential reinforcements nearby.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to generate a plan of attack to result in achieving your objective - without harming the civilian presence in the town.

If you are victorious, you can win one of five Collector's Edition copies of Medal of Honor on PC. If you are defeated, you win only the shame and dishonour that follows.

Can you rise to the challenge?

Prove your military smarts in the Medal of Honor Comp to WIN!

im a bit confused if the target is inside a field that is inside the town or the town is ina field?

can I draw a diagram of what I would do?

You can draw a diagram for your own reference if that'd help to marshal your thoughts, but the entry needs to be written in text :)

Nuke the site from orbit. Only way to be sure.

Nes...

"A High Value target is known to be in the building at F."

Not sure how much more clear I can be :) In fact, I'm not sure I even mention a field...

Okay, have you read the tac problem yet? The article's a rough description - the comp page is the final word. Read it and all will be clear.

Hopefully that helps - about to hop a plane back to Sydney, so will be offline for a bit.

And meta, if you're going to quote: use "" :)

Edited the sentence Meta quoted for clarity, hope that clears it up somewhat.

arkiek, we've asked EA but haven't heard back yet. I'll most likely update this story with the info once we get it, assuming it's timely.

I would like to remind Metasynaptic that this facility has a significant dollar value attached....however, tis true, it's the only way to be sure..

Wow. I must have missed that "" quote guideline after trawling through the twelve pages of terms and conditions regarding posting.

this is my solution
three stage op
1. have the sniper stay behind at A and take out any militants from range while the spotter and soldiers evacuate the civilians at B,C,D removing the possibility of hostages.
2. when the civilians are out of the town have the base at E lightly bombarded while the four soldiers simultaneously raid and the spotter sabotages the fuel lines on the truck. this will push the target to the roof and the sniper will take him out
3. evacuate as quickly as possible while the sniper provides cover fire

Have you entered that, ark?

If so... not ideal. I mean, who's spotting for the sniper if his spotter is off messing about with civvies?

Have all men strip off all clothing, run into the compound riding dinosaurs whilst screaming at the top of the lungs.
Shortly after, the town is bombarded with a single shell full of flammable shellfish.

War is hell.

Hawkeye

An artillery spotter, yes. A sniper's spotter, not so much :)

Have entire team stay South of field, build up your base while harvesting all the Tiberi...um...field, then tank rush the Target through the civvies or use overlord tanks to bombard site F till "Mission accomplished" comes up on screen.

CK, you require more Vespene Gas.

Well if we're going to be all C&C about it. I would get my dozer to build up Gatling cannons around their base. (with tank force protecting of course). Use the artillery barrage to wipe out their resources. Using mig's with napalm upgrade to quell any rebuilding. Then once they expend the last of their cash to destroy my forces... rush them.

Congratulations General... you have been promoted.

YAY!!!
