Space Marine trailer rocks our power armoured socks

Video: In the grim dark future of humanity, there is only war. And an awesome looking third person shooter, called Space Marine.

Time to be honest - we have a near-genetic pre-disposition to like Warhammer 40,000, and any game based on it. Sure, we're not feeling hopeful just yet about the Dark Millennium MMO, but if you told us we could play it tomorrow we'd jump at the chance. Similarly, we never get tired of watching our tiny squads of Marines kick Xenos butt in Dawn of War. But the real game that's getting us stupidly and unabashedly excited is the upcoming third person shooter, Space Marine.

Not only do you get to play as a member of the Adeptus Astartes, a veritable angel of death in ceramite power armour, but you're an Ultramarine no less - my beloved first Chapter when I got into the tabletop hobby years ago. And, also, you get to kick a giant amount of arse in the game.

Check out the E3 trailer to see just how much arse a Marine can kick...

There's no release date yet for the game, annoyingly, and it's only on console, but we're expecting awesome things from Space Marine.

Shit. Yes.
If I can use dual powerfists in a first person environment, I honestly think I will cum myself to death.

Booyah!!

Having been playing "Transformers: War For Cybertron" a lot this week, I'm hoping it's a mix of that and "Gears of War" (with better melee combat) and collectible/upgradeable wargear strewn around the maps

Bah, bloody Ultramarines get all the computer games, ever since Chaos Gate!

Still, marines FTW. Would be nice to see some 'nids and Dark Eldar up this close ...

Bollocks.

"Chaos Gate" is the ONLY 40K computer game I can think of where Ultramarines have featured as the main protagonists.

Wait, I'm wrong. "Squad Combat" on the NDS was Ultramarines, too.

Still, that's only two games out of something like a dozen all told.

Yeah. That's what I was getting at.

Also, as there's no edit feature on these pages, I should note that it was "Squad Command", not "Squad Combat" on NDS.

Unlike all of the other 'call of duty' type games where its unrealistic to have a single person win an entire war, the hordes and hordes that will die in Space Marine is a little bit of an understatement. I mean, its an Ultramarine... They're like invincible.
