Dead Rising 2 gets a classification...

Dead Rising 2 gets a classification...

... and it's a sensible MA15+, without cuts! So get ready for the zombie apocalypse that's going to be unleashed on September 30.

Good news zombie fans. Dead Rising 2 has just received a clean bill of health from our censorship overlords, and will be released locally on September 30 on all major platforms - uncut.

The MA15+ rating comes alongside the consumer warnings of strong horror violence, blood and gore and sexual references. So, you know, it's a totally different proposition to the hacked to the point of death Left for Dead 2.

*crickets*

Okay, to be honest, we just don't get it. Is the big difference the third person perspective? Is it the humour? Does someone on the Classification Board find Dead Rising 2's new character, Chuck Greene, ruggedly handsome in a kind of pixellated way?

Who can say. Oh well, we guess we should look an undead gift horse in the mouth. Keep an eye out for our report on our hands on time with Dead Rising 2 at E3.

Huzzah!! Good news!

Now...how will the upcoming "Mortal Kombat" reboot fare under the wibbly-wobbly standards of our classification system?

When I saw MK at E3, I was with another aussie Journo, a good mate of mine in fact. He just turned to me and said "Well, I'll never need to write about that!"

"sexual references"??? Really?

Being from over the ditch, I still can't believe you poor sods are still behind the times on this, even after all these years...

Nope, not Bajo.

And just so you know, I saw more aussie journos at E3 than I did at any local gaming event :)
