Thermaltake add USB 3.0 to thousands of cases; see Thermaltake's headquarters!

Computex 2010: Atomic looks at Thermaltake's stand to see their new range of cases and esports gear!

Thermaltake have been manufacturing cases for just over a decade (as celebrated by the launch of their Level 10 case), and offerings such as the Spedo have managed to impress - though the Xpressar did the exact opposite.

The year was big for case manufacturers at Computex and no less so for Thermaltake; they've completely updated their lines to add in USB 3.0 support in practically every chassis.

There is also a big focus on creating visually interesting cases that don't cost the world. Almost all the cases we saw launched were not high-end ones, but rather mainstream models. The mainstream is where Thermaltake's volume is, so getting this in there now is a good idea.

This didn't hold fast for all products though; the Armor A90 (and to a lesser extent the A60) case looks to be aimed at enthusiasts, featuring plenty of handy features and oodles of space.

Also interesting was the inclusion of hot-swappable HDD caddies into Thermaltake's V9 BlacX Edition case - allowing two 3.5"/2.5" SATA hard drives to be plugged in the top of the case, giving quick access to data. Very useful in a LAN situation, for sure.

Thermaltake have also updated their LANBOX series of cases with this little case, featuring enough room inside to roast a suckling pig (which also happens to be the end result of cramming too many graphics cards into a small space). They reckon the cooling is good enough to handle the heat though, so its performance remains to be seen.

Atomic also had the opportunity to visit Thermaltake's headquarters where all the cases and heatsinks are designed, showing off the blingiest Luxa2 cases coated in diamonds and giving a glimpse at where these products come from. This is a custom version of their LM200 case that we saw in its original form earlier this year. Perhaps this is the end result of their ghetto mod competition?

There's a lot to see and plenty to read, including a few new entries into the tt esports range, so jump into the gallery from the beginning and see it all in glorious detail.

We've also got our naughty little hands on a very special prototype case coming very soon from Thermaltake - but you'll have to grab a copy of Issue 115 to see what it is ;)
