More than 15 local gamers and game journos are going to play Borderlands for 48 hours straight in the name of charity. And sleep dep.
There ain't no rest for the wicked, says the opening track for Gearbox Game's Borderlands, and that's going to be true not only for the wicked, but also for a group of virtuous gamers this weekend.
More than 15 local gamers and game journos have banded together - with the support of Borderlands publisher 2K Games, and The Mana Bar in Brisbane - to play 48 hours of Borderlands co-op in the name of charity. Child's Play, to be exact, an international children's charity.
The event will be streamed online and live via GameArena, and viewers will be able to chat to the intrepid players, suggest in-game challenges, and donate to Child's Play. All the while, the event will also be played throughout The Mana Bar.
This is something we can get behind - it's always great seeing gamers get together to show we're about more than fragging. So log onto www.gamearena.com.au/marathon from 6pm tonight to share in the fun and warm fuzzies.
