The hit love-letter to Diablo, Torchlight, is getting a sequel with every gamer's number one wish: co-op play. Woot!
We love Torchlight. It's the kind of game you keep permanently installed on your hard drive for any glum day where a bit of random hack and slash combined with greedy looting is the only answer to chasing away the blues. But what the original really needed was a co-op mode - because racially motivated home invasions (ie, dungeon crawls) are best shared with friends.
And thankfully, Runic Games has just announced Torchlight 2 will have co-op and more.
It'll still be same low-powered, high-quality feel of the original, but it'll have four classes and mess more customisation options, but the real draw is multiplayer. We're talking full co-op, LAN play and a peer-to-peer matchmaking service.
Torchlight 2 will be released in Autumn (our Autumn, that is) next year. Check out the official page for more deets.
