Call of Duty: Black Ops special editions announced

How do you top Modern Warfare 2's night vision collecter's set? The Black Ops team at Treyarch have an idea...

Ah, the Collector's Edition. Each new game seems to get a bigger and sexier set of extras, and few extras to date have been cooler than the Modern Warfare 2 night vision goggles. Until now - the new Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige and Hardened Editions are looking pretty damn smooth.

The Hardened Edition features a limited edition medal, a Black Ops Avatar outfit, and four co-op maps.

The Prestige Edition features all of that, plus the RC-XD - a remote control surveillance vehicle with a remote camera that transmits back to the hand held controller in full colour. Yes, Treyarch and Activision are pretty much telling you to snoop on your neighbours, your co-workers, your pets... pretty much anyone.

Bless 'em.

However, the special editions seem to be only available for console versions of the game, according to today's press release. The PC version isn't mentioned at all, so we're waiting on comment from local Activision reps.

Seems the PC-hate is still continuing.

I have a ps3 and a wii and an xbox 360 but i am never going to get call of duty on them.... and too Atomic, love you guys... I am a subscriber Love the magazine and website keep it up...

MrInsaneBuff Aug 15, 2010 8:56 AM	50 bucks down on pre-order for the 360 version. TBH i see this only being useful when i mount some kind of tray on it, and send it out of my room and shout at someone else in the house to put some beer on it.
J_Fungus Aug 15, 2010 8:18 PM	I spoke to an EB salesman today to find out if there was a PC version. He told me no, but they will let you exchange the console version out for a PC version. Don't know if all EB stores ill do it, but the one in Darwin will. (Not that i'll actually get this game.)

majestic975 Aug 16, 2010 10:20 AM	I got the PS3 Prestige version. Only so I can flog it off on eBay for more once its released, as there are limited numbers. Then get the PC version with the profit. I hope my madness pays off.
