Video: Splash Damage, the devs behind upcoming shooter Brink, explain their new take on integrating multiplayer with the game's campaign.
We're liking the look of Brink. The mix of ultra-gritty settings, shiny hi-tech future stuff, and stylised, almost comic-book character design looks really fresh. Even better... it's playing really well.
We got a brief hands on of the game at GamesCom, and it really is bringing a lot of new stuff to the well-worn FPS table. And one of those things is the integration of multiplayer into the game's campaign.
Brink's going to take co-op play to the next level. With each mission of the campaign, you can choose to play by yourself with AI on your side and the other, co-op against the AI, or with a full spread of real players, who are also playing through that portion of the campaign. It's pretty neat, and there's a whole lot of other multiplayer innovations coming too.
Brink releases on all major platforms next year.
