Post of the Month!

September was a busy month across site and forums, but we still managed to sort out the most awesome posts from our lovely readers...

Another month, another 30 days of forum awesome sauce.

If I could give every one of you a prize, I would. However, pushing any of our vendor friends to have over a forum's worth of stuff might be pushing things too far... thus, we narrow down the awesome into the super awesome, and award some lucky Atomican POST OF THE MONTH.

And who gets the prize (a super hot awesome Starcraft II headset from Razer!) this month?

Why, no other than Kung Fu Hung-Su, for an inspiring bit of reminiscing over in the PC gaming forum!

"Had a sudden craving to play Deus Ex again last night. The charming voice acting, powerful but subdued music, a growing sense of purpose as you dive deeper into the agendas of the games characters, organisations and their puppets, I felt really great playing this game. I feel inclined to play it again, but I don't think I can let myself do so when there are so many other games about that I have not played. So I'm now on the hunt for other rich sci fi game experiences."

Well done, and thanks for the memories. But he's not alone (though, well, he is alone in getting the cool gear...). Our runners up this month are...

lg9142, for his excellent discussion post on the so-called death of PC gaming:

"In the end, Tsunoda has embarrassed himself, and ignited a thousand flame wars over the web, without any meaning or conviction behind the triggering comment."

lordsid's brilliantly useful RMA and warranty thread:

"She asks what the problem is and this gets me into a state, I spend the next 30 minutes explaining to her how "Yes, I've tested the ram" and "No, it doesnt boot" until she decided that the rams voltage was running too high and that "She'll let me off with a warning" - at this point I was about to scream at her yet, I couldn't, obviously a very clever move on Intel's part, due to the text chat."

Nicely done, chaps. Pip pip to you all!

the classic Post of the month, i reckon would have to be "how to remove cum stain off my monitor" doubtfully dramatized but creatively Hilarious nonetheless.

Yes but PotM ends before the actual month ends due to deadline.

So the month of October really started 2 days ago (for) PotM.

Yeah, if we stuck to calendar months there'd actually be a kind of deadzone that didn't matter.

My best post elsewhere this month was to advertise a fake job for a BOFH Systems Administrator
at a recruiter website who had really pissed me off by not having a clue about the location, company name or full job description of a job which I wanted to apply for, sent from my special antispam email account which autoreplies "NO SPAM" to anything which it receives.
Anyone like to guess how that went? Well I chickened because that would have been misuse of a large outbound mail server, but if anyone else wants a stab at them ... just wait for their autoreply to get busy and the smoke to rise ...
