Tt eSPORTS - Pro Series CSS Season 1 Finals report

The inaugural season of the Tt eSPORTS - Pro Series has come to a thundering finish - find out who came out on top!

Last weekend saw the final of the Tt eSPORTS event at a City Hunter net cafe in Sydney. We had a man on the ground to report...

There was an air of anticipation when we arrived at City Hunter in Chinatown, seven teams from all over Australia and New Zealand had arrived to frag it out over massive stakes in a double elimination tournament. Each in their own right strong contenders for the prizes in Australia's highest stakes Counterstrike Source competition ever. Sponsored and run by Thermaltake and Tt eSPORTS, more than $16,000 in money and merchandise was on the line for the seven sharpest teams in the country.

Teams:
Frenetic Array - Australia
Sequential Gaming - Australia
Keyboard Sports - Australia
Diversity - Australia
Archaic Esports - Australia
Team Immunity - Australia
ix.GIGA - New Zealand

All seven teams had already fought their way through four weeks of qualifying rounds to be crowned worthy of competing in the final showdown. Each team had already secured a sweet $1000 each for winning qualifying divisions, so they were hungry for more and went all out to snag the $5000 first place prize. The matches were electrifying displays of technical fragging skill and strategic mastery. Upsets were caused all day, the young Frenetic Array side fired up twice in a row to knock Keyboard Sports and the top seeded team Sequential Gaming down into the loser's brackets.

As the dust settled Team Immunity stood triumphant in the winner's bracket. Meanwhile below Sequential Gaming settled their score with Frenetic Array in a revenge match, forcing FRAY to bow out into third place and earning the right to play in the grand final. Being a double elimination tournament, Immunity needed to lose twice for Sequential to win while a single victory for Immunity would score them the $5000 first place.

With so much on the line both teams gave it everything. Sequential took an early commanding lead but Immunity rallied and came back to tie up the score at 14-14. Finding their second wind Sequential quickly popped another two rounds in the bag to win the match 16-14 and forced a second match. Again Sequential racked up an early head start only to falter as Immunity fought back with a vengeance closing the scoreboard gap at an alarming rate. Finally, Sequential dug deep and ended the Tt CSS Season one grandfinal on a 16-13 win.

Results:
1st Sequential Gaming - $5000
2nd Team Immunity - $2000
3rd Frenetic Array - $1000

The winners also netted themselves some pro Tt eSPORTS gear including BLACK series mice and Challenger keyboards.
