Homefront team announces Aussie dedicated servers

Essential Linkage: Dedicated servers? Win. In Australia? Even better... and that's not all the good Homefront PC news.

The folks over at IGN have scored a bit of a news exclusive today on the Homefront, uh, front

It's a brief little post, but it's full of awesome for those hoping that Homefront may deliver a slightly fuller multiplayer game than most titles have been delivering. Basically, Kaos Studios and THQ have just announced that there'll be dedicated servers for the game all over the world, including Australia, and - even better - that PC gamers will be easily able to host their own servers of the game.

No news yet on LAN play, but we can only imagine that'll be there too. If so... bless Kaos! It's great seeing a company recognise not only the strengths of the PC platform, but also what PC gamers have been slowly losing from game after game - full, unlimited multiplayer access.

These guys went from making Desert combat, to Frontlines, to this. If they continue to mature at this rate they should surpass the likes of Dice and Infinity ward very soon.

Looking forward to see how the guys do with this. Frontlines had some great ideas in it but lacked a bit of something . . . At leats they tried to do something a bit different.

Wishing them all the best. On a personal note I am looking forward to a really compelling FPS single player experience. Can this be it? Definetly wont be preordering - EA have burnt me im afraid.

This game sounds like it can blow MW2 and Bad Company 2 RIGHT OUT OF THE WATER. The ideas and development sounds fabulous. Looking forward for more!!!

That's because it's an idea that has the potential to become reality. The idea that Korea can invade the US that is...

Yes Metasynaptic I am aware that this is not an EA game. Im afraid the feeling of being ripped off cuts across the board though. From now on I go back to the old ways of waiting and seeing before I part with any of my hard earned dollars.

With that I can't say I disagree. I'm glad I didn't fly out of the gates and buy MoH, and I'm waiting warily for reviews on CoD:BO before I invest.

If this has LAN, will definitely be a deal maker for me over BF3, COD:BO and any other new FPS.
I LAN at least once every 6 weeks, and getting very sick of playing COD4!

@krispy89
Sorry please explain how North Korea invading America can be a reality. The Politics and government of the world wouldn't let this slip in real life no matter how much america is an damsel in distress.
