Essential linkage: Guess who's fighting off the undead hordes in Call of Duty: Black Ops' zombie mode?
Zombies? Is there anything they can't make better? Zombies have made a huge impact on gaming recently - two Left4Dead games, zombie modes in World at War and the new zombie campaign in Red Dead Redemption... what's left for our brain-loving ex-humans?
Well, according to a trailer leak that Kotaku recently picked up on, the zombie mode in the very soon to be released Call of Duty Black Ops isn't so much about the shambling dead, but more about the dudes doing the killing.
In other words... awesome leaders from the golden age of 20th century brinkmanship. AKA, JFK, Richard Nixon, Robert McNamara and Fidel Castro. Yes, they're the playable characters who'll be defending the Pentagon from the zombie horde.
In a word: awesome.
We can already see the in-game chatter:
JFK: Nixon, why are you scoping me up? Nixon: Oh, no reason... McNamara: Listen guys, it might be all fun and games 'til someone gets popped in the noggin, but I really think we're in over our heads here. Like Vietnam-grade in over our heads. Castro: Yeah, but zombies... it's like the ultimate in socialist thinking... but it's not as cool when it's my brains they want to nom...

To be honest, we're still kind of waiting to be disappointed by Black Ops' multiplayer offerings, but this is hella cool. Given we've got a Black Ops event coming up, this might be the perfect mode...
