Essential Linkage: A new crystalline 'hybrid material' promises fault-resistant quantum computers...
Let's kick off the morning with a link and a bit of supremely hard science - QUANTUM SCIENCE!!!
Our pals over at ITnews have just posted a great little piece on a new materials breakthrough about a hybrid material with a 'split electronic personality'. It's essentially a crystal structure with a metal-like surface and a superconducting inner material.
How heavy is the article?
Researchers said it could be used to create and manipulate Majorana fermions - particles theorised to be the building block of a self-correcting quantum computer.
I have no idea what that means - but it sounds awesome. So get your quantum on (or off, or maybe both) and head on over to ITnews.
