id's RAGE is out tomorrow!

id games' Rage is about to release, but not on PC... no, it's coming tomorrow... FOR THE iPHONE!

Okay, this better not be some belated April Fools joke, but a little birdy has just told us that from tomorrow, id games' Rage will be available on the iPhone from tomorrow.

Can I get a giant W... T... F...?!

And true enough, here's the skinny direct from the Bethesda Blog:

"Put down the angry birds and stop cutting those ropes: RAGE Mobile brings beautiful hardcore shooting action to the iPhone and iPad starting tomorrow."

Wow. Pricing will be 99 cents for the normal version, and $1.99 for the HD version. We're kinda stunned - we knew Carmack liked the iPhone, but this is ridiculous! You can currently find the app on the iTunes app store, and it should filter through phones and iPads tomorrow.

Hawkeye Nov 18, 2010 6:54 PM	Okay, time to 'fess up. The game's actually an on-rails iteration of the game, a mini-game if you will :) You can look around and all, but your movement is controlled. But it is a cut-down version of the latest id-tech engine, and it looks super cool. Played a bit this arvo, and it's super impressive, even on the iPhone. On iPad, it'll be awesome.

Mademan Nov 19, 2010 1:48 PM	I think it looks fantastic, the gore and shooting not so much. But for a mobile device its stunning. And whilst some may be dissapointed "it's on rails", keep in mind the actual game it's based off isn't due until this time next year, assuming it's not delayed.

Don't you just love the benefits of our FTA with the US, especially when it provides for a non-discriminatory treatment of digital products. So, even though I completely disagree with paying for a tech demo at an artificially inflated price .. I've just bought and downloading now .. frak, what a sucker .. no wonder Apple's bigger than MS

Messing with the status quo :) Carmack is pretty good except he favors Nvidia and APPLE AND WHAT HAPPEND TO THE (ID OS) carmack spurted on about in a video years ago whilst showing off his crazy desktop editing doom or some such was supposed to eliminate the need for Directx where is it HUH!!!! To busy building rockets and sending people into space Damn! you trying to get to mars and release hell on earth Damn! you for not releasing things in working order and Damn you for liking APPLE really APPLE a computer for FRUITS or a Fruity computer for Pretentious Douches who think their 20$ D&G sunnies look cool while stroking a ICRAP or DIEPHONE those are not specialised hardware anymore not that it was good before but maybe SPEHSHELL hardware dropping their weak software on X86 YAY! if your going to By UNIX buy unix not some DARWIN junk EVOLVE much.
