Video: Find out how gamers can unlock a whole new map for the upcoming Vietnam expansion for Bad Company 2.
Teamwork... it's the name of the game in Bad Company 2, but it can be pretty tough to find the team that's willing to really work together to get the job done. We've all been there - those moments when all it would have taken to pwn is one heal, or some extra ammo, and no one was willing to pull together.
Sometimes, people really suck.
However, it's going to take non-suckage on all versions of Bad Company 2 to unlock a fifth map, Operation Hastings. EA has just announced that each platform - PC, 360 and PS3 - will only get the map once players total up 69 million team actions.
For those who don't play well with others, that means, heals, revives, resupplies, spotting and repairs.
It's a very interesting move on EA's behalf. Games like World of Warcraft have been unlocking content based on server-wide teamwork for years, but it's the first time such a thing has been tried in the multiplayer FPS market. It could also anger PC players - after all, with more people playing the game console, there's a good chance Operation Hastings will effectively be a console-exclusive for a time.
Regardless, content is content, and we're still really looking forward to leaping out of a Huey while Fortunate Son blasts from the speakers! Bad Company 2: Vietnam will be available on December 18 for all major platforms.
