Rockstar's rocking western continues its rampage on the end-of-year awards season with more GOTY wins.
Fresh from its GOTY win at the Spike Video Game Awards, Rockstar’s rootin’ tootin’ (and occasionally shootin') western extravaganza has picked up a whole lot more swag at Machinima.com’s 2010 Inside Gaming Awards. Red Dead Redemption took out Game of the Year, Best Narrative, yet another Best Score award and a nod for Best Sound Design. John Marston was also named Most Compelling Character.
Call of Duty: Black Ops and God of War III also made a decent showing with two awards apiece, but the night belonged to those Old West outlaws.
And the love doesn’t stop there. Over the pond, the London Times has gotten in on the act, naming RDR its Game of the Year. It was described as a ‘master class in game design, gameplay, storyline, dialogue and attention to every detail imagineable’. High praise indeed.
Red Dead Redemption was released back in May of this year to rave reviews and has sold close to 7 million copies to date. These latest awards are a very nice finish to a very big year.
